Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, along with proven experience in network security engineering and a strong understanding of network protocols. Expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and DLP systems is required, as well as knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards like ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI-DSS. Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, or CISM are preferred, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are necessary.
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. They will also monitor network traffic, respond to security incidents and breaches, conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, develop and maintain security policies and best practices, collaborate with IT teams, research emerging security threats, provide technical guidance, and conduct training and awareness sessions for staff on network security best practices. Furthermore, the engineer will assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network security.
