Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in the natural gas industry is preferred
  • Experience in drafting natural gas pipelines
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 3D
  • A technical degree is a plus
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and/or ESRI is a plus
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with others

Responsibilities

  • Prepare computer drafted natural gas pipeline as-builts and mechanical detail drawings
  • Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD
  • Generate bill of materials
  • Ability to work independently
  • Print working drawings using a plotter
  • Create estimated time requirements for projects
  • Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis
  • Operate a scanner to duplicate project documents and scan field notes
  • Complete pipeline 'as-built' drawings from field notes, historic documents, survey data, etc
  • Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure
  • Verify and organize field visit survey notes
  • Assist Project Managers as needed
  • Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
