Strong proficiency in MATLAB or Python and C++ for DSP modeling is required, along with a solid understanding of modem DSP concepts such as framing/deframing, pulse shaping, acquisition and tracking loops, and spreaders/despreaders. Experience with channel coding components like Convolutional, Reed-Solomon, LDPC, and Turbo codes is also necessary, as is knowledge of channel impairments and modem resilience.
As a Modem DSP Engineer, you will own the lifecycle of DSP algorithms, encompassing initial analysis, modeling, FPGA implementation, and field deployment. You will develop floating and fixed-point modeling infrastructure using MATLAB/Python/C++, collaborate with FPGA and software engineers to implement algorithms and ensure fidelity, and work with hardware, software, and test engineers to facilitate rapid integration and deployment. Furthermore, you will develop waveforms from the ground up, understand common satellite communications standards, and potentially contribute to adaptive coding and modulation systems and LPI/LPD waveforms.
