Requirements

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in designing, building, refactoring, and releasing native Android applications, along with experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working within Agile teams. Proven experience with Kotlin or Java is required, as well as familiarity with TDD, pairing, code reviews, and other techniques for maintaining high-quality code and resiliency. Preferred experience includes Android Architecture Components, MVVM, and Dagger, and knowledge of modern Android APIs, concurrency/threading, layouts, transitions, animations, client-side persistence, and architectural patterns for mobile apps.

Responsibilities

As a Mobile App Architect (Android) at eBay, you will be a member of the native mobile architecture team, responsible for building the next generation of the eBay native application architecture. You will support Core Product developers with debugging Android and new OS feature issues, collaborate closely with various Core Product domains on feature and architecture implementation, and follow agile practices focused on continual improvement. You will advocate for improvements in code and culture, support your colleagues, work well with team members and other teams, and partner with other organizations throughout eBay, sharing knowledge and contributing to the core app experience.
