Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience or an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant field with 7 years of industrial experience in Applied Machine Learning. Strong experience in multiple areas of Machine Learning, including classification, regression, NLP, clustering, Deep Learning/Neural Networks, and Reinforcement Learning is required.
The Machine Learning Engineer will collaborate with Management and Product Management to shape the department’s vision and roadmap, design and deliver significant features in data pipelines, ML processing, and/or service infrastructure, seek scientifically valid solutions that deliver real value to eBay customers, carefully measure output and impact, collaborate with Operations on data quality, build Machine Learning models and data pipelines, mentor junior peers, promote scientific rigor and code quality, present technical work, and help interview and hire new teammates.
