Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred. They should be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and have at least 5 years of relevant experience in analysis and design of new and rehabilitation structures, including highway (DOT) and pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, and load rating. Strong knowledge of state DOT and local agency design standards and criteria is also required.
The Mid-Level Structural / Bridge Engineer will prepare and check structural analysis, design plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge projects, collaborating with multi-discipline design teams. They will provide experience in project planning, including general oversight, design, implementation, and ensuring quality of work products, while maintaining knowledge of relevant standards and policies. This role involves analyzing deteriorated components, assessing remaining capacities, developing construction documents, performing structural inspections, preparing technical reports, and coordinating with contractors. Furthermore, the engineer will participate in business development, project pursuits, and lead technical roles on bridge or structural design projects, as well as perform QA/QC review of documents and other duties as needed.
