Requirements

Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent for degrees earned outside the United States per 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience
Practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
MD designation for specific duties (interpreting clinical trials/research, signing off on product safety reviews, establishing and approving scientific methods for clinical protocols and final reports)

Responsibilities

Maintains a deep understanding of the science behind our products
Develops competitive intelligence in our product space
Drives education and outreach for safe and effective use of our products
Develops, implements and oversees integrated evidence-based medical affairs strategic plans for relevant Medtronic organizations
Utilizes advanced subject matter expertise to provide medical input to various functions (General Management, Global Strategy & Portfolio Management, Business Development & Licensing, Research & Development, & Marketing) and organizational units to facilitate insightful decision-making and enable achievement of business objectives
Ensures effective objective value propositions are developed and articulated for Medtronic technologies to stakeholders (patients, health care providers, payers, government agencies, health technology assessment organizations, public) through appropriate channels
MD designation only: Interprets clinical trials/research, signs off on product safety reviews, establishes and approves scientific methods for design and implementation of clinical protocols, and final reports
Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results
May act as a mentor to colleagues or direct the work of other lower level professionals
Sets objectives for own job area to meet the objectives of projects and assignments, contributes to the completion of project milestones, and may have some involvement in cross functional assignments
Makes adjustments or recommends enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area
