Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Five plus years of Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class A or Class B, with Air Brake endorsement) and ability to drive on behalf of company business
  • Knowledge of diesel technology, electronics, transmissions, and hydraulics
  • Willing to travel; work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines
  • Ability to become Forklift/Boom Lift certified
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or at heights
  • Effective communication, tool use, and adherence to safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Perform preventative maintenance on company owned and rental fleet
  • Repair and troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, final drives, hydraulic components, including pumps, motors, valves, and all related components, electrical and air systems
  • Write service reports that accurately document activities
  • Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner
  • Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure safe quality work and to preserve and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis
  • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules
  • Communicate with equipment managers and field managers in a manner which promotes a positive relationship
  • Welding, fabrication, and tool inventory management
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed
