Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience
  • 2 years free of OSHA recordables, DOT accidents, quality issues, roadside inspection violations
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to perform heavy work, including frequent lifting and carrying of objects 25-75 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including operating commercial vehicle 6-11 hours per day
  • Knowledge of federal and state DOT regulations, including GVW and hours of service
  • Full knowledge of general aspects of the job

Responsibilities

  • Drive commercial vehicle to move materials, supply internal demand, and deliver materials/finished goods between plant and off-site warehousing
  • Pick up and deliver to suppliers, vendors, and outside contract sterilizers
  • Ensure accuracy of all paperwork related to the job
  • Ensure safety of fellow employees and the public while operating vehicles or performing company activities
  • Deliver and pick up products according to established safety procedures and guidelines
  • Maintain high-level customer relations by delivering orders on time and behaving courteously and professionally
  • Report complex issues and complaints to management
  • Achieve OSHA-related targets for recordable incidents and lost time incidents
  • Perform rotation and inventory checks of existing product
  • Adhere to all federal and state DOT regulations
  • Identify and recommend route improvements to management
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections of assigned vehicle
  • Identify, address, and maintain vehicle problems; ensure compliance with federal and local laws
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, coordinate PMs, licensing, and emissions
  • Load and unload freight according to procedures and regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly/annual training for Good Manufacturing Practices, Health & Safety, and Compliance
  • Remain updated with annually revised regulatory standards
  • Operate material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Escalate issues to supervisor as necessary
  • Assist with various projects as assigned
  • Perform safety checks on trailer tip jacks, wheel chocks, dock locks, and dock plates; ensure all safety devices are operational
  • Ensure load distribution weights comply with federal and state requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
