Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field and/or Journeyman level qualified (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills
  • Previous pipeline experience preferred, with emphasis on electrical/instrumentation/mechanical
  • Ability to complete Level 2 qualification within 24 months of hire
  • Physical ability to ascend/descend stairs, climb ladders, perform hot work, work at heights, below ground, and in confined spaces (e.g., vaults, storage tanks)
  • Physical ability to push/pull/lift & carry up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, kneel, squat, twist, perform trunk rotation, neck extension/flexion, crawl, and reach overhead
  • Ability to work occasional callouts and overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work schedules such as Monday–Friday, Monday–Thursday, or Thursday–Sunday day shift, which may include rotation, subject to management discretion

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks associated with routine maintenance of facility instrumentation and measurement devices
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair final control elements, such as process control, safety and emergency shutdown, fire detection and suppression, gas detection, wiring, and control panels
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs and communications; partner with SCADA and Engineering personnel as appropriate
  • Maintain and update all system documentation, including loop diagrams, panel drawings, and relevant discipline control and internal documents
  • Complete all required training and perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory requirements
  • Provide field support to various Marathon Pipe Line LLC processes and departments
  • Assess, maintain, repair, and monitor control of distributed control systems
  • Perform maintenance and repair of medium voltage equipment
  • Perform calibration and troubleshooting of various instrumentation, control systems, and automation systems
  • Other job duties as assigned
