Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (e.g., industrial/mechanical/manufacturing or related field)
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive engineering/manufacturing quality at an OEM/Tier 1
  • Very good technical understanding and sound knowledge of product/vehicle development and production with focus on manufacturing plant launch
  • Successful history of engaging in the delivery of new program launches on time while achieving metrics
  • Very good product and process assessment skills, problem solving and root cause capabilities
  • Sound knowledge of quality management with in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control disciplines
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills
  • Proven track record of engaging and participating in high-performing teams
  • Proficient in the use of commonly applied quality tools and processes in the automotive industry (e.g., AIAG, IATF 16949, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of core documentation - FMEA’s and Control Plans
  • Highest level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment
  • Willing to relocate to Warsaw, IN (relocation assistance provided)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust quality assurance and control processes relative to Sub-Assembly and General Assembly
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are developed and seamlessly integrated within the manufacturing process
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address technical and process quality issues to ensure the highest quality standards
  • Perform regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications for the new car launch
  • Work closely with suppliers through the supplier quality team to establish and monitor quality expectations for incoming materials and components
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection procedures, and quality manuals accordingly
  • Risk minimization through use of appropriate risk assessment tools and verification of the robustness of detection and prevention systems for special characteristics
  • Support the development and maintenance of FMEA’s
  • Support the definition of quality processes and technical standards in cooperation with development, product management and manufacturing to ensure product quality
  • Support the planning and evaluation of product test drives within quality and approvals of functions and systems
  • Provide quality support to the technical and manufacturing teams, as well as drive/support daily operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
