Requirements

  • At least 5 years of information technology and operations experience, preferably as part of a security operations center or in a dedicated security role
  • 3+ years professional experience in managed services
  • Broad working knowledge of information systems, networking, identity and access methodologies, and security procedures
  • Experience with any of the following: Endpoint Security, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Email Security, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Web Application Firewall (WAF), Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDS/IPS), Vulnerability Management, Data Backup and Restoration, Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft desktops and applications, including Windows 10 and Office in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Able to support the transition of all technical components and processes critical for the success of a Security Operations program to and/or from a managed service model
  • Desired but not required: intermediate to advanced level certifications (e.g., CISSP, CASP, CEH)
  • One or more certifications in Security/Networking (e.g., Security+, GSEC, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, CISM, CISA, or other security-specific vendors/product certifications)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and respond to security threats
  • Effective communication skills to convey security concepts to diverse audiences
  • A proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing security landscapes

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monitoring of all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software
  • Analyze and resolve complex security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Maintain awareness of the latest threats including malware, new attack vectors, attack methodology, threat patterns, trends, and general threat intelligence
  • Assist in developing new and continuously improving cybersecurity technology standards, policies, and processes
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and deploy cybersecurity-related hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments
  • Manage vendor relationships with MDR (Managed Detection & Response) Services
  • Participate in technical audits to ensure compliance with security policies and other industry standards
  • Lead & direct red team/blue team cyber-attack simulation exercises
  • Prepare reporting of metrics and trending of SLA & KPIs to the customer and client support staff
  • Mentor team members on following best practices, applying analytical methodologies, and emerging threats to Family Dollar systems
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned as the role evolves/matures
  • Oversee the maintaining, improving, and optimization of the security operations (SECOPS) team
  • Identify, recommend, and implement various processes and technology improvements that maintain and improve the overall Family Dollar security posture and incident response
  • Work closely with teams across all departments where security applies
