Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
  • 8-12 years direct experience in field of expertise; including 5 years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management, with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in using Oracle ERP systems or similar inventory management software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • APICS training and/or certification is desirable
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to drive results and meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the inventory control team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies and procedures to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize discrepancies
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to establish optimal inventory levels based on demand forecasts and production schedules
  • Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and dispositions, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established policies
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits to validate system accuracy and promptly address any discrepancies
  • Identify areas for process improvement in inventory management and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Generate insightful reports and analysis based on inventory data, providing recommendations to management for inventory optimization and cost reduction
  • Stay current with industry best practices and trends in inventory control and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address inventory-related issues and ensure seamless operations
