Engineering Manager - Confluent Platform for Apache Flink® & ksqlDB

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow our Confluent Platform for Apache Flink® team. This role also offers the opportunity to lead the ksqlDB team, covering both Confluent Cloud and Confluent Platform.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to shape the future of stream processing technologies at Confluent. You will be responsible for managing and expanding a talented team focused on building the best-in-class Apache Flink® offering for self-managed environments. This includes enabling existing Flink users to realize its full potential in production and making it easy for newcomers to adopt. You will work closely with key partners in our Stream Processing unit and Flink engineering teams. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in distributed data processing systems and has a proven track record of leading teams in this domain.

  • Build operational excellence within the team.
  • Improve incident response methodologies for rapid and effective mitigations and remediations.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in incident response strategies.

  • Promote open communication and teamwork within the team and with other departments.
  • Facilitate effective cross-functional partnerships to achieve shared objectives.
