Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer and 3+ years of experience as a people manager. Proficiency in successfully managing large-scale data engineering projects and experience with Agile project management are required. Familiarity with distributed systems like Spark and Kafka, data lakes, time series data, IoT data challenges and best practices, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is also necessary. Strong leadership, project management, data engineering, data architecture, communication, value creation, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

The Data Engineering Manager will lead, mentor, and coach a team of Data Engineering professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and establishing measurable goals. This role involves owning the successful outcome of critical data engineering projects, including project management, resource management, and communication, while mitigating risks and clearing blockers. The manager will also establish and continuously improve data engineering architecture, processes, and standards, collaborate cross-functionally to drive initiatives, and own team performance against established SLAs. Additionally, they will establish and provide visibility for metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive stakeholder alignment on a rolling 5-quarter roadmap for Data Engineering.
