Requirements

  • 1 year industrial maintenance experience or education
  • Good math, reading, and writing skills to properly monitor equipment, check, and record data
  • Ability to follow instructions both written and orally
  • Ability to wear required personal protection equipment, including Air Purifying Respirators (requires medical physical and clearance)
  • Ability to work in hot outside temperatures up to 118 degrees and cold temperatures down to -10 degrees inside the freezer
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on feet on hard surfaces like concrete all day
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Member of the HAZMAT Team

Responsibilities

  • Document readings for all ammonia systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, re-circulators, piping, and associated equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance/repair on forklifts
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment and mandatory checks multiple times a day
  • Visually inspect assigned equipment on the roof and within the plant regularly and report any ammonia issues to the supervisor
  • Develop thorough knowledge of facility layout, tools, parts, and equipment
  • Maintain and monitor ammonia refrigeration equipment within safety standards for the entire facility
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
  • Work inside and outside the facility as directed, including exposure to weather elements, wet floors, humid, noisy, and cramped quarters
