A strong research background is essential, demonstrated through published papers and a graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Mathematics. Fluency with foundation models and a genuine interest in the medical domain are also required, along with strong critical thinking skills.
The Machine Learning Scientist will advance the state of the art in medical ASR by improving transcription accuracy for clinical conversations, supporting various languages and dialects, and enhancing speaker diarization. They will contribute to the research community by publishing original research, implement algorithms for real-time speech recognition, perform data preprocessing, and define performance measures. Additionally, they will measure and optimize algorithm quality, identify important problems, and incorporate real-time clinician feedback to guide further innovations.
