Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience with operational systems
  • Experience with modern operating systems, programming languages, and frameworks
  • Experience with on-prem clusters and containerized systems
  • Familiar with cybersecurity principles and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software related to the operations systems
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain the satellite operations systems for Telesat’s advanced LEO constellation
  • Participate in satisfying all system requirements for the control systems, including real-time command and telemetry processing, flight dynamics system, space situational awareness, data storage and analytics, ground encryption, and constellation management and operations automation
  • Assist other satellite operations teams and collaborate with the Lightspeed satellite engineering teams
  • Participate in the procurement process, including acceptance testing, verification of requirements, and training
  • Develop and validate mission operations procedures and processes for LEOP, Orbit Raising, and In-Orbit validation
  • Develop and implement robust automation of operational processes
  • Monitor and maintain the GEO satellite operations systems (currently operating 20+ spacecraft)
