Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, or Mathematics
Minimum of 9 years of experience with operational systems
Experience with modern operating systems, programming languages, and frameworks
Experience with on-prem clusters and containerized systems
Familiar with cybersecurity principles and best practices

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software related to the operations systems
Develop, monitor, and maintain the satellite operations systems for Telesat’s advanced LEO constellation
Participate in satisfying all system requirements for the control systems, including real-time command and telemetry processing, flight dynamics system, space situational awareness, data storage and analytics, ground encryption, and constellation management and operations automation
Assist other satellite operations teams and collaborate with the Lightspeed satellite engineering teams
Participate in the procurement process, including acceptance testing, verification of requirements, and training
Develop and validate mission operations procedures and processes for LEOP, Orbit Raising, and In-Orbit validation
Develop and implement robust automation of operational processes
Monitor and maintain the GEO satellite operations systems (currently operating 20+ spacecraft)
