We have grown significantly, serving nearly 4 million learners per month through our websites, apps, and YouTube channels, catering to both independent learners and those in schools. Our efforts are concentrated on reaching underserved populations by making content accessible in local languages and collaborating with large public school systems. Khan Academy content is currently available in Assamese, Hindi, Hinglish, Kannada, Gujarati, Tamil, Marathi, and Punjabi.

The content team in India comprises experienced Subject Matter Experts who develop thousands of videos, articles, and practice questions aligned with the Indian curriculum, benefiting both teachers and students. We are actively engaged in content localization into various Indian languages, with our co-created content reaching learners nationally and internationally.

We are seeking a Localization Manager to spearhead our localization initiatives. This role will be crucial in creating thousands of educational resources in vernacular languages, serving millions of learners across India, with the support of our skilled in-house language experts and state-appointed resource groups.

Role Details

  • Lead Localization Quality: Provide coaching to in-house localization experts on Khan Academy content principles and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content through rigorous quality control (QC).
  • Strategic Project Planning: Collaborate with state leadership to develop project plans that align with their curriculum objectives and Khan Academy's strategic goals.
  • Ensure Localizability: Partner with the content team to establish guidelines for creating English content that is easily localizable, while maintaining the depth and quality of videos and exercises.
  • Drive User Insights: Implement a strong feedback mechanism with state teachers through workshops and continuous communication to enhance content relevance.
  • Facilitate Smooth Delivery: Work closely with the in-house tech team to ensure the seamless execution of localization projects and the consistent functionality of web and mobile platforms.
  • Share Best Practices: Collaborate with the internal team to disseminate localization best practices effectively.
