Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1+ year of safe commercial driving experience (Class A or B CDL)
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B (Class A preferred)
  • Current DOT Medical Certification and compliance with all DOT regulations
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand traffic signs/signals, respond to inquiries, and complete reports/records
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, twist, stand, sit/drive for extended periods, and lift 60-100 lbs (frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, infrequent to 80 lbs)
  • Ability to climb on/off truck, work in confined spaces, bend, squat, push, pull
  • Operate vehicle in various traffic and weather conditions
  • Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels and cases per error goals
  • Proven customer relations and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to plan/organize work independently, perform simple arithmetic (money handling preferred), and maintain inter-department communications

Responsibilities

  • Deliver merchandise to customers according to pre-determined route within expected time parameters
  • Unload correct merchandise, check orders, and note any corrections
  • Complete all assigned reports and paperwork at end of day
  • Communicate system or documentation problems to Manager
  • Pick up returned merchandise per return authorization
  • Comply with all DOT safety and documentation regulations
  • Perform safety and housekeeping duties per Edward Don & Company and OSHA standards
  • Effectively communicate with customers and all levels of staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
