Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of work experience as Line Mechanic A, Lineman A or equivalent experience as determined by the Company, or 480 tracked and verifiable hours stepped up to a Line Servicer role
Performed the duties and have all the qualifications of Lineman A or equivalent
Qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company
Pass a physical abilities assessment
Valid Class A CDL
Responsibilities
Analyze and take corrective action on trouble calls for all types of transmission and distribution circuits and equipment
Investigate trouble calls; patrol and inspect lines; locate, clear and repair faults on lines and equipment
Refuse line and transformer cutouts; repair and adjust street light control equipment; install and remove transformers, meters and services
Coordinate and/or conduct complex circuit switching and restoration of service from trouble calls
Work with hot line equipment on energized circuits for emergency repairs or routine maintenance
Independently interface with emergency forces (e.g., fire and police departments) for safe trouble call restoration
Communicate effectively with customers, formulate plans to resolve trouble calls, inform customers if trouble is in their wiring/equipment, and investigate radio/TV interference
Install, remove, operate and maintain residential, commercial and industrial facilities (overhead and underground)
Disconnect and connect meters; read in and read out meters
Operate line switches; operate switches and replace fuses in stations; request, make and accept line and station clearances
Perform similar or less skilled work
Direct the work of employees assigned to assist
Provide first response to trouble calls; investigate, correct and clear trouble; assist construction and repair crews
Perform miscellaneous, related and incidental work as applicable to overhead and underground facilities
