Demonstrate ability to perform ground person duties under immediate or direct supervision
After D-100 or equivalent: Operate company equipment (except digger/derricks and aerial lifts), climb poles/ladders/structures, work on de-energized conductors/equipment; work on energized up to 260V under direct supervision
After D-200 or equivalent: Operate digger/derrick and aerial devices under immediate supervision; work on energized up to 260V under immediate supervision of higher classification; operate cutouts/line switches/reclosers/sectionalizing devices/refuse line/transformer devices under direct/immediate/general supervision
After D-300 or equivalent: Test de-energized overhead lines/equipment, install/remove personal protective grounds under immediate supervision
Basic working knowledge of ropes, rigging, hand lines, knots; use/store them properly
Ability to splice primary/secondary overhead wires using proper tools/hardware (crimping/compression)
Safely execute pole top rescue and bucket truck rescue as training completed
Inspect/maintain/use rubber gloves/sleeves (PIPE), insulating blankets/hoses/covers (IPE)
Read/record information on analog/digital kilowatt-hour meters; maintain accurate records/reports; complete Monthly Apprentice Cards

Assist in installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal, inspection of electrical transmission/distribution facilities (overhead/underground)
Drive/operate line trucks/auxiliary equipment
Assist with assembly/installation/maintenance/removal/inspection of underground facilities/conductors/fixtures/structures/equipment on de-energized/grounded overhead/underground facilities under direct/immediate supervision
Assist with loading/unloading/handling/maintaining/installing/removing poles/towers/structures
Assemble/install line material/hardware under direct/immediate supervision
Inspect/maintain tools/equipment/work area safely/clean/orderly
Inspect/maintain/organize/operate/stock company vehicles/equipment/tools
Perform housekeeping duties as assigned
Report irregularities/abnormal conditions
Protect/control work area: set/remove barricades/flags/signs/cones/equipment
Perform similar or less skilled work as assigned
