At least one year of experience as a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a satisfactory clean driving record (preferred but must be qualified to hold and possess)
Physically able to perform essential duties, including climbing poles skillfully with Lineman’s climbers, working aloft on electric utility poles, and on ground/pad mounted structures
Ability to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers
Available to perform overtime and emergency work as required
Live within approximately one-half hour (one hour) of the reporting location (e.g., South Windsor, CT or Cheshire, CT)
Qualified to rubber glove high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV
Successfully pass written assessment and overhead physical agility assessment
No need for immigration sponsorship
Responsibilities
Perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system
Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment
Work aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad mounted structures
Direct the work of others when assigned
Respond to emergency situations and trouble calls, available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour
Participate in Emergency Restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location
