Bachelor's degree in engineering or a physical science or equivalent education and/or experience
For Senior: Minimum of 6 years' experience in nuclear power plant operations or 6 years' experience in reviewing and preparing changes to licensing documents
For Principal: Minimum of 12 years' experience in nuclear power plant operations or 8 years' experience in reviewing and preparing changes to licensing documents
Strong knowledge of plant design and operation and nuclear policies, practices, and procedures
Strong interpersonal skills with effective writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform duties involving work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within NRC limits
Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant
Responsibilities
Independently coordinate the evaluation, preparation, processing, and submittal of regulatory correspondence, including Licensee Event Reports, Notice of Violation responses, Regulatory Relief Requests, and License Amendment Requests
Independently provide technical assistance and guidance to plant personnel in evaluating plant conditions requiring NRC notification
Independently provide Technical Specification guidance to plant on clarifications and interpretations; conduct event analyses and make recommendations on reportability
Independently facilitate and coordinate work activity of others to perform routine regulatory tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies, practices, standards, rules, and external regulations/procedures
Develop and review presentations and reports on complex subjects in a clear, concise, and effective manner suitable for management and/or regulatory bodies; make presentations to internal and external stakeholders
Assume supervisory responsibilities during scheduled and unscheduled supervisory absences
Support and participate in the Emergency Response Organization and Corrective Action program activities as assigned, in accordance with applicable procedures and policies
Interface with NRC Resident Inspectors, Regional Inspectors, NRR Project Manager, and other NRC staff to manage NRC Inspections and support NRR review of requested licensing actions
Schedule and execute compliance and/or licensing activities related to inspections, allegations, Notices of Violation, NRC interface, and regulatory correspondence
