Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • At least 3 years of recent veterinary experience (in any capacity) in a veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities (preferred)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to provide client education
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of endoscopy procedures, equipment, and care (a plus)
  • At least 2 on-call shifts per month for emergency foreign-body endoscopy (mandatory once fully trained)
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality, productivity, attendance, and punctuality

Responsibilities

  • Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
  • Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
  • Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity based on position
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
  • Provide diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
  • Help keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintain client and patient confidentiality
  • Act as an ambassador of LVVSC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
  • Other duties vary based on role and department
