Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
Experience working as an LVT in an ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
Reliable, organized, and committed to providing high-level care to patients and clients
A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvement
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to deliver exceptional client service
Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun
Availability for overnight shifts, including weekends and Monday through Thursday with rotating weekends (full or part-time)

Responsibilities

Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
Provide diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing (e.g., blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, free catch urine)
Perform various laboratory procedures (e.g., blood typing, cross matching, slide agglutination testing)
Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following radiation safety protocols
Properly use and maintain medical equipment
Provide professional client communication
Keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Maintain client and patient confidentiality
Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
Meet or exceed expectations for attendance and punctuality
Act as an ambassador of VECC, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
