Responsibilities

  • Perform general nursing care to patients
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
  • Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
  • Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
  • Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences for emergency situations; maintain timely patient flow
  • Greet patients, prepare for physical examination, screen for health history, take vitals, and document in patient chart
  • Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests
  • Respond to patient phone calls timely with physician input
  • Educate patients and families on diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance
  • Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints
  • Maintain exam rooms with supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness; prepare supply lists
  • Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens per lab protocol; perform quality control and maintain lab testing records
