Requirements

Candidates should possess an Associate’s degree in Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. They should have at least 2 years of experience in legislative/regulatory tracking, ideally within healthcare, education, or a compliance-oriented role, and experience working in a healthcare learning company, regulatory agency, or state licensing board is desirable. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legislative language are necessary, along with proficiency in tools like State Net, LexisNexis, or other legal/regulatory tracking software, and a basic understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

The Legislative Information Specialist will track and interpret state and federal legislative and regulatory activity related to healthcare practice, licensure, and continuing education, accurately updating bills and proposed rule movement in the platform. They will monitor Board of Pharmacy websites for newly published agendas, minutes, and newsletters, format and compare updated statutory and regulatory language, perform quality functions to ensure accuracy, maintain workflow, contribute to yearly projects and continuous quality improvement, and summarize and communicate key legislative trends to internal stakeholders. The Specialist will collaborate with content developers to update educational material, maintain a centralized database of legislative changes, prepare reports, and provide subject matter expertise for audits and approvals. Additionally, they will support thought leadership and advocacy efforts by contributing legislative insights and white papers as requested, and complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
