Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 7 years of Software Engineering/Production Support experience
  • Proficiency in SRE Capabilities
  • Proven production operations experience
  • Provide L2 incident support for production and non-production application environments
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to application performance, infrastructure, and observability metrics
  • Work closely with L3 support, developers, and DevOps teams to ensure quick incident resolution
  • Maintain and enhance observability dashboards and alerting mechanisms using tools like Splunk, DataDog, Grafana, OpenSearch, OTEL, Prometheus, and ELK
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and drive preventive measures
  • Support and troubleshoot existing Jenkins / AWX automation jobs and Ansible playbooks
  • Monitor and manage Kubernetes-based applications deployed on Azure and/or AWS environments
  • Maintain operational excellence by adhering to ITIL practices, change management, and continuous improvement processes
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required
  • (Good to have) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • (Good to have) Knowledge of incident management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
  • (Good to have) Understanding of microservices architecture and API troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Support Applications & automate manual tasks
  • Work on Stability, Observability, Automations with team members and business partners
  • Implement complex on-prem and cloud applications as well as supporting infrastructure
  • Provide production support for critical applications hosted on prem & Cloud (AWS & Azure)
  • Eliminate toil and manual efforts related to Patching, Rehydration, Deployment, Self-Healing, Stability and Resiliency
  • Application deployment, operational Stability and Availability of the applications
  • Develop automated frameworks to provide enhanced support
  • Problem resolution, Cloud Migration and Observability
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation providing off-hours support
  • Share knowledge while also learning from other experienced engineers
  • Work effectively in unstructured environments, anticipating impact of changes and providing quick resolution for high impact incidents
  • Think outside the box to identify and develop innovative, secure solutions which may not conform to traditional practices
  • Some support activities and implementations will be after hours or during weekends as needed
