Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Product Management, or a related discipline, and ideally have 5+ years of experience in product management, particularly within data platforms or knowledge graphs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with demonstrated experience in shaping product roadmaps and collaborating with engineering teams. Familiarity with database technologies and data access patterns is beneficial, as is an understanding of open-source software development.
As the Lead Product Manager, you will be responsible for the product lifecycle management of the Wikidata Query Service (WDQS) and related successor services, collaborating with technical stakeholders to identify user needs and translate them into prioritized system requirements. You will also develop and execute product roadmaps, guiding the modernization of the data access infrastructure and improving self-service capabilities for the Wikidata community, while working closely with Wikimedia Deutschland (WMDE) product management and engineering counterparts. Furthermore, you will serve as a thought partner to senior leadership and affiliate partners on strategic and tactical roadmap development, and contribute to the overall vision of the Wikidata Platform.
