Product Manager, Semantic Layer
dbt Labs- Full Time
- Entry Level & New Grad
Summary: The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a collaborative Lead Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap of the query platform for Wikidata. Wikidata is one of the world’s largest open linked databases, impacting billions of users across 300+ languages and serving as a critical resource for libraries, universities, and technology platforms. The vision is a world where every person can freely share in the sum of all human knowledge, including access to data for editing workflow support, research, feature development, and advancing artificial intelligence responsibly.
As the Lead Product Manager for Wikidata Platform, you will shape the future of how users query and access Wikidata at scale, guiding short- and long-term roadmaps to ensure stable, reliable, and sustainable data access.
This individual contributor role shares responsibility with the Engineering Manager and Tech Lead for the delivery, development, and operations of Wikidata platform products and services. You will report to the Director of Product, Abstract Wikipedia, and Wikidata Platform. As Wikimedia Deutschland (WMDE) primarily leads and resourced Wikidata application product strategy and development, this role will involve close collaboration with WMDE product management and engineering counterparts.
You will join the Product and Technology organization at Wikimedia, contributing to products and services used by hundreds of millions globally. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on one of the top 15 websites in the world by improving and increasing the impact of its data platform.
Your responsibilities will include modernizing data access infrastructure, enhancing self-service capabilities for communities, and guiding Wikidata query services to meet growing data and demand.
The engineering environment utilizes a mix of in-house and off-the-shelf open-source applications, hosted primarily in collocated data centers. A successful candidate will also act as a thought partner to the Vice President and Director of Product, as well as affiliate partners, on strategic and tactical roadmap development.
This is a remote position, open to candidates globally, with some travel required.
