Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with an MBA or CPA being preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment accounting, financial reporting, or analysis within investment management, preferably in insurance, asset management, or pension funds, is required. Strong knowledge of accounting principles for investment portfolios, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis is essential. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with investment reporting platforms and general ledger systems are necessary, along with exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are also required.

Responsibilities

The Lead Financial Analyst will lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial models. They will analyze financial data and trends to identify key business drivers and performance improvement opportunities, including complex investment instruments like fixed income, equities, alternatives, and derivatives. Responsibilities include ensuring proper accounting treatment, developing and maintaining financial models, preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management, and monitoring key performance indicators and market trends. The role involves partnering cross-functionally to provide financial support, aiding in financial close processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and improving financial tools and systems. Additionally, the analyst will collaborate with investment management, operations, and compliance teams to interpret financial results and support audits.
