Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
  • Key Leadership Skills: Product Excellence Centered Passion & Mastery, Vision Crafting, World Building, Concept Development, Aesthetic Sensibility, Trend/Style/Culture Awareness, Consumer Centric Forward Leaning Mindset, Critical Thinking, Presentation, Global Awareness, Team Player, Growth Mindset
  • Demonstrated passion and understanding of trend and visual culture
  • Expert communication and presentation skills using a variety of formats
  • Proficient in Adobe CC and comfortable working within new digital spaces
  • Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
  • Ability to apply design skills: drawing/sketching/cobbling ideation, digital product creation, visual presentation development & layout, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale
  • Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
  • Experience in technical footwear design (performance footwear experience a plus)
  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator, Gravity Sketch, and understanding of AI Ideation skills
  • Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills (a plus)
  • 3D design programs experience (a plus)
  • Strong sketching, illustration, cobbling, and rendering skills
  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc
  • Positive personality and energy
  • Ability to contribute and align to shared team culture and behaviors

  • Must submit a footwear design focused portfolio

Responsibilities

  • Create original Footwear product designs that reflect Nike's design philosophy & standards with guidance from senior designers and the Design Director
  • Proactively implement all footwear product details including construction detail, color, form, style, detail, fit performance, and trims
  • Partner and clearly communicate with all relevant members within Design, Technical Development, and Product Management to ensure feasibility of designs against product creation timelines
  • Present design concepts to various internal audiences with support from more senior designers
  • Create presentation materials that effectively communicate the concept behind the seasonal designs
  • Collaborate with design management to gain experience, enhance design skills, and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products, and processes
  • Partner with category team members in design, development, and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price point, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines
  • Lead and develop seasonal design concepts for footwear
