Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's degree and over 5 years of experience in research, ML engineering, or applied research science, with a focus on production-ready AI solutions. A minimum of 2 years of experience leading AI/ML system development is required, along with expertise in Agentic AI System Design, MLOps/DevOps collaboration, SQL, Python, data analysis tools, machine learning frameworks (Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, Pytorch), high-performance ML systems, language modeling with transformers, reinforcement learning, and large-scale ETL. A Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Lead Data Scientist will design AI solutions using Python, computer vision, and generative models like LLMs and diffusion models, ensuring responsible development aligned with ethical standards. They will build autonomous AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI to support reasoning and decision-making in healthcare. Responsibilities include embedding AI into Humana's systems, collaborating with business teams to co-create solutions, and communicating AI capabilities clearly. The role also involves designing for scalability, reliability, and compliance, working with engineering and product teams on MLOps/DevOps best practices for AI model deployment, managing data science strategies, guiding strategic decisions, leading the development and maintenance of complex machine learning models and algorithms, and creating reports, projections, models, and presentations for executives.
