Position Overview
FourKites is seeking an experienced AI & Frontier Model Scientist to lead our data science initiatives and drive innovation in data and AI. This strategic role will collaborate across departments to leverage big data and machine learning, ensuring our software remains at the forefront of the supply chain industry. The successful candidate will report to the EVP, Technology.
Responsibilities
- Set the long-term vision and strategy for the AI function in alignment with company goals.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to integrate advanced machine learning algorithms into our software offerings.
- Drive the research and development of state-of-the-art algorithms, ensuring data science initiatives add customer value and provide a competitive edge.
- Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for executive and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attend conferences and stay on the cutting edge of AI, driving adoption of the latest advancements.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of data science projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
- Implement best practices for data processing, model development, validation, and deployment.
- Ensure proper infrastructure and tools are available for the data science team.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends in big data and machine learning.
- Be hands-on with LLMs, fine-tuning, and related technologies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields.
- Proven experience in launching successful products with significant data science components and managing the entire model development lifecycle.
- Demonstrable expertise in building and deploying machine learning models.
- Knowledge of data technologies and ML platforms.
- Strong coding skills.
- PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their AI platforms.
- A track record of thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, or contributions to the data science community.
