Confined Space Training and Certification (preferred)
DOT registered Inspector or ability to obtain certification (preferred)
HM-183 Certification (preferred)
Broad understanding of operational procedures and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair
Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
Broad knowledge of MIG and TIG welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers
Ability to work independently with limited supervision for routine situations
Broad understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts that are not routine and require analysis to understand
Responsibilities
Performs complex inspections, conducts diagnostic tests, and performs preventative maintenance
Performs complex work on specialized equipment, such as MC-306/406 tank trailers, Aluminum Trainers, and DOT407 and 412 Trailers
Diagnoses and repairs electrical and hydraulic problems on equipment
Performs or assists lower-level employees with installations as scheduled and meets relevant deadlines
Performs complex welding and fabrication on various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment
Performs work in confined space while communicating with attendant
Ensures and maintains efficiencies so that scheduled jobs can be handled within the designated time frame
Completes paperwork and/or enters data associated with equipment repair in an accurate and timely manner
Follows all safety policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or needed
