Lead Biostatistician

Position Overview

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are seeking a Lead Biostatistician to join our Biostatistics team within Quantitative Sciences. This role is crucial in contributing statistical expertise to the design and analysis of clinical trials and clinical development plans for innovative treatments in autoimmune diseases. You will collaborate closely with program partners and stakeholders to deliver statistical deliverables and contribute to Health Authority (HA) submissions. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on improving health outcomes globally.

  • Preference for Belgium, but the position can be based anywhere in EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute statistical expertise to the design and analysis of one or more clinical trials or the clinical development plan of one compound/program.
  • Collaborate closely with program partners and stakeholders to deliver statistical deliverables for clinical trials.
  • Contribute to Health Authority (HA) submissions.
  • Report to a Franchise Team Leader within the Biostatistics and Statistical Modelling organization.
  • Carry out functional responsibilities in accordance with applicable company guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Statistics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in biostatistics (may include doctoral research).
  • Expertise in drug development with a demonstrated track record of advanced knowledge of biostatistics and its application to clinical trials.
  • Ability to plan, supervise, implement, and monitor statistical processes for multiple clinical trials.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (SAS and/or R).
  • Ability to clearly explain complex statistical concepts in written and spoken English.
  • Team-player with a focused attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously as part of a cross-disciplinary team in a dynamic, fast-growing biotech company with challenging timelines.
