Jr. Credit Underwriter Position

Location Type: Remote Employment Type: FullTime Location: Dallas, TX

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing loan applications, evaluating credit risk, and making informed credit decisions. Core responsibilities include preparing comprehensive credit reports, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, and maintaining effective communication with clients.

You will have the opportunity to shape the quality of the company’s lending portfolio through your daily actions and implementation of new ideas. This role offers the chance to collaborate with cross-functional teams across Sales, Technology, and Finance Operations to support the company’s overall strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of customers’ financial statements to assess their creditworthiness and determine the probability of default.
  • Credit Limit Assignment: Recommend appropriate credit limits for business charge card applicants based on financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Tool Utilization: Leverage a variety of third-party and internal tools to evaluate account risk and make informed credit decisions.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and analytics to identify patterns, trends, and risks in customer financial profiles to support credit decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing financial analysis, risk assessments, and credit limit recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as Revenue, Customer Service, Legal, and Compliance to ensure accurate and efficient credit evaluation processes.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute ideas to enhance credit assessment systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, credit analysis, or a related role (internships or academic projects may count toward experience).
  • Skills:
    • Comfortable using data to inform decisions and proficient in analyzing financial statements.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
