Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician with previous experience working on medium voltage equipment
- Detail-oriented
- Team player willing to take on additional roles as needed
- Good attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong analytical ability and willingness to accept and learn from feedback
- Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily
- Constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back
- Participation in drug and alcohol program (safety-sensitive position)
Responsibilities
- Maintaining 480 VAC and above equipment, including 13.8kV and 34.5kV switchgear and transformers
- Supporting 3rd party vendors during switchgear device calibration, testing, or repair of facility equipment
- Assisting in the operation and testing of facility equipment
- Making regular inspections of all MCC and Medium Voltage equipment to obtain and record data in support of plant reliability efforts
- Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, blueprints, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required installation, maintenance, and service
- Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements and OSHA guidelines
- Continuously looking to standardize practices and methods to be the most efficient and effective
- Maintenance, repair, and safe operation of medium voltage (480V and above, including 13.8kV and 34.5kV) electrical systems, including generators, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment
- Safely isolating and racking in medium voltage equipment
- Working with blueprints and technical documentation to understand system designs, troubleshoot electrical problems, and develop effective solutions
