Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field (required for both SG 5 and SG 6 levels)
  • For SG 6: 2 years of relevant work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Adhere to NERC Standards for Power Control Systems and cyber security rules
  • Knowledge, experience, and willingness to learn in: RTU, SCADA, Monarch, PLC, Ladder Logic, C, GUI Display Development, Testing, Training, Automatic Generation Control, Network (ICCP, Modbus, DNP), Server Management, Desktop Client Support, End User Support, Troubleshooting, Project Management
  • Knowledge of Monarch (GMS) is a plus
  • Additional Preferred: Understanding of NERC CIP security principles, WAN and VPN concepts, Basic understanding of C programming language, Knowledge of Communication Protocols (DNP3, Modbus, ICCP), Understanding of Ladder Logic, Knowledge of RTU (Remote Terminal Units)
  • Proactive and growth mindset with willingness to learn and take control of development
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Availability for on-call 24x7 support (rotated amongst team members)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, development, and installation of software solutions
  • Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices
  • Design, modify, develop, write, implement, and troubleshoot software programming applications
  • Support and/or install software applications
  • Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software
  • Work within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework-based team
  • Collaborate heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst, and Infrastructure Job Families
  • Support and develop the Generation control system
  • Connect new Generation resources to the control system
