Responsibilities

Assist senior staff with design, planning, and operation of corporate and operational data networks (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data centers, VPN, network tools)
Assist with configuration, installation, and management of routers, switches, Wi-Fi equipment
Review current network topologies
Assist with troubleshooting network performance, identifying and resolving hardware/software issues on network equipment
Ensure stable network environment for business and operational applications
Participate in IT projects to improve/upgrade network/telecommunications infrastructure
Under direct supervision, maintain technical knowledge in network/computer hardware/software interconnection (routers, switches, multiplexors, gateways, communications processors, network OS, protocols, monitoring platforms, sniffers, VOIP, IP video conferencing, multimedia)
Assist with updating documentation for network architecture and planning total network integration
Assist with evaluating existing network systems and recommending resources for maintenance/expansion
Assist with recommending solutions for performance, tuning, capacity issues; provide network performance/capacity consulting for new projects
Assist with consulting for business on solution recommendations
Assist with monitoring network and arranging corrective actions for high-quality transmission
Assist with third-party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshooting with users/LAN/WAN admins
Assist with technical white papers and enterprise architecture plans for data network environment
Assist with 2nd level technical support/consultation to operations, technical groups, support center; troubleshoot network/server/client communication issues across platforms
Assist with communicating business requirements to vendors, vendor proposals, and RFPs for network design/applications
