Candidates should possess a minimum of 7 years of confirmed experience in investments/markets with a degree in a relevant field, demonstrating an understanding of investment accounting product mechanics including debt instruments, equities, and derivatives. A CA/CPA or similar qualification with a technical understanding of General Ledgers is required, along with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and manage time effectively. Experience in analyzing upstream and downstream data for Investment Products is necessary, and a desirable skill is an understanding of SQL and working knowledge of databases. Experience in transforming manual processes using digital tools like Microsoft Power BI, Alteryx, and RPA tools will be an added advantage.
The Associate will be responsible for handling all aspects of accounting and reporting services for insurance clients, focusing on supporting the monthly accounting close, leading client/department initiatives, and improving processes and controls. Key duties include developing detailed knowledge of BlackRock’s capabilities, products, and services for insurance companies, responding to daily client inquiries, completing daily reviews of the exception management tool, and ensuring accurate investment reporting through the preparation, review, and distribution of accounting packages and reporting schedules. The role also involves completing quarterly/annual NAIC reconciliations and reporting in compliance with US Statutory guidelines, providing complete and accurate data reviews to clients, analyzing accounting data with commentary on results, and assisting in client or department projects to improve service offerings. Additionally, the Associate will use learning tools and trainings to deepen understanding of accounting policy and pronouncements and promote the use of technology to better serve clients.
