Requirements

Candidates should possess one year of professional translation/interpreting services in the designated language with written and oral communication proficiency, demonstrating fluency in formal and dialectic nuances, and demonstrating knowledge of educational and medical terminology is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and formal training/certification is preferred. A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

The Interpreter will provide oral and written translation/interpretation for service providers and recipients, shifting easily between technical and informal language skills, recognizing and accommodating dialectic differences in language, and providing literal and anecdotal translation. They will assist the team in implementing goals and objectives by offering accurate translation/interpreting services, translate written documents into the language of family and/or legal guardian, and support families by bridging communication with other outside service provider(s), medical professional, and social service organizations.
