Requirements

Completed or enrolled in a post-secondary or training program with a focus on music, entertainment or marketing
Passionate music lover. Music is everything
Social media savvy with a strong grasp of platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for spotting trends and new artists
Knowledge of the Canadian music landscape, including record labels and independent artists
Comfortable using DSPs such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube etc
Detail-oriented researcher with strong data skills and a proactive mindset
Connected and actively involved in the local music scene

Responsibilities

Perform in depth online research daily (TikTok, Instagram, notable DSP playlisting & charts, tastemaker channels & analytical tools) monitoring artists, sounds & trends and compile findings to send to entire A&R team on a weekly basis
Participating in weekly A&R meetings, engaging in discussions about artist development and music projects, and documenting key decisions and actions
Maintaining tracking tools that assist and streamline A&R research (i.e. A&R Dashboard, CoBrand, Chartmetric etc.)
Compiling assets and statistics for department marketing tools
Updating A&R local show calendar
Participating in weekly one-on-one meetings to learn about A&R concepts, approach, and discuss industry talking points
Completing other duties as assigned
