Requirements

  • Professional experience with Vue.js (2.x), Apollo Client, and VueApollo
  • Professional experience with building fullstack webapps with GraphQL
  • Experience with writing automated tests with Jest
  • A solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS and core JavaScript concepts
  • A solid understanding of core web and browser concepts (eg. how the browser parses and constructs a web page)
  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems
  • Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
  • Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and clear status updates
  • Some experience with backend technologies, especially Ruby on Rails is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design counterparts to finalize the requirements and break down projects into smaller iterations. Then work with other engineers to plan and execute the work
  • Work with engineers across Plan Stage
  • Iterate and ship value to customers quickly. Create Proof of Concepts for more complex work. Ensure quality by writing extensive tests, and rolling out changes behind feature flags
  • Craft code that meets our standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment
  • Support other frontend engineers and advocate for quality during code-reviews
  • Participate in the Quality Rotation
  • Nurture our open-source community by selecting and preparing issues for contributors, helping to organize hackathons, and reviewing contributions
  • Suggest and execute process improvements in monthly retrospectives
