Requirements

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in financial management, reporting, and fund accounting
  • Controller-level experience highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, non-profit accounting, financial systems, and reporting tools
  • Experience with Colleague/Prophix and ADP a plus
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with diverse teams across multiple departments
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial functions, including GAAP financial reporting, month-end/year-end closings, audit preparation, tax filings (e.g., 990s), and external reporting
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, fund management, and investment accounting
  • Act as liaison to insurance companies and investment consultants
  • Partner with the VP of Administration and Finance to support treasury activities, including cash management and investment reporting
  • Prepare materials for Board Committees (Audit, Finance, Investment)
  • Oversee departmental and institutional budgets
  • Serve as fiduciary and voting member of the University’s Retirement Plans Committee
