Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
  • 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience managing and supporting Azure API Management or similar API Gateway platforms
  • Expertise in configuration and policy management of API Gateways
  • Ability to apply API design principles and OpenAPI specifications
  • Experience implementing security practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and Azure AD/Entra ID
  • Experience utilizing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for API performance monitoring and diagnostics
  • Experience deploying APIs using ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines for API deployment using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
  • Experience with containerization (Docker/Podman) and managing deployments in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments
  • AZ-204: Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure certification
  • Google Cloud – Apigee API Engineer Certification

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and administer APIs on Azure API Management, including the Self-Hosted Gateway on OpenShift
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for platform administration, implementing security and governance policies
  • Automate deployments using Terraform and CI/CD
  • Maintain broad awareness and knowledge of the API Management platform and industry trends
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn new technologies and drive their implementation
  • Provide after-hours (24/7) on-call support as part of a rotation
  • Oversee APIM platform administration tasks such as capacity planning, upgrades, backup/restore, access management, and incident resolution
