Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
- 8 years of relevant work experience
- Experience managing and supporting Azure API Management or similar API Gateway platforms
- Expertise in configuration and policy management of API Gateways
- Ability to apply API design principles and OpenAPI specifications
- Experience implementing security practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and Azure AD/Entra ID
- Experience utilizing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for API performance monitoring and diagnostics
- Experience deploying APIs using ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines for API deployment using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Podman) and managing deployments in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments
- AZ-204: Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure certification
- Google Cloud – Apigee API Engineer Certification
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and administer APIs on Azure API Management, including the Self-Hosted Gateway on OpenShift
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for platform administration, implementing security and governance policies
- Automate deployments using Terraform and CI/CD
- Maintain broad awareness and knowledge of the API Management platform and industry trends
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn new technologies and drive their implementation
- Provide after-hours (24/7) on-call support as part of a rotation
- Oversee APIM platform administration tasks such as capacity planning, upgrades, backup/restore, access management, and incident resolution
