Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • First Class Instrument Mechanic work experience and skills
  • Five (5) years equivalent experience in a refinery or petrochemical operations (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office/Outlook) and experience with systems such as SAP
  • Eligible to qualify or hold a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card)
  • Ability to read and interpret Schematic Drawings, Wiring and Interconnect Diagrams, Loop Drawings, P&ID's, Process Flow Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, and ISA symbols
  • Experience troubleshooting, installing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining flow, level, pressure, differential pressure, and temperature transmitters, transducers, controllers, control valves, regulators
  • Experience maintaining Allen-Bradley PLC’s, Foxboro Distributed Control Systems – I/A Series, GSI tank level gauging, and safety interlocks
  • Experience working with diagnostic and test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, and megger
  • Willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and holidays, and mandatory overtime
  • Ability to coordinate work and function as a member of a team
  • Ability to perform tasks in any craft as incidental work
  • Participate in training programs to maintain and/or upgrade skills
  • Working knowledge of equipment and tools required for efficient installation and repair of refinery equipment
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform physically-active assignments, including work on high structures and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions
  • Pass written tests and assessments, physical skills demonstration test, post-offer pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screening
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install complex instrument and process monitoring equipment
  • Troubleshoot, install, calibrate, repair, and maintain flow, level, pressure, differential pressure, and temperature transmitters, transducers, controllers, control valves, regulators
  • Maintain Allen-Bradley PLC’s, Foxboro Distributed Control Systems – I/A Series, GSI tank level gauging, and safety interlocks
