Installation Technician

Position Overview

Flock Safety is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our Field Operations team. As the face of our company, you will be responsible for installing our cutting-edge technology solutions that help eliminate crime and keep communities safe. This role is crucial to our business success, requiring a strong work ethic, critical thinking, and excellent customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Install poles of varying lengths per install specifications, including digging holes of a minimum of 8” x 36”.
• Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries to solar panels.
• Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) technology to poles and angle them to capture desired footage.
• Work on both public and private roads, often on equipment 10-12’ high.
• Regularly work with a bucket truck and/or ladder to work on equipment up to 30’ high.
• Repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring.
• Adhere to daily schedules by arriving prepared and completing work in a reasonable timeframe.
• Provide installation pictures via the Flock field app on a mobile device.
• Perform administrative tasks such as inventory management, reporting, continuing training, and receiving product shipments.
• Perform all work in a safe and professional manner.
• Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys.
• Interpret traffic control plan and permit drawings to identify proper installation locations for Flock devices.

Requirements

• Physical Demands: Frequent/continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and independently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Prior Experience (a plus):
  • Field work (construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar).
  • Operating and driving a bucket truck.
  • Using a tow-behind compressor, stand-on skid steer (Toro Dingo), or ride-on skid steer (Bobcat) (training included).
• Vehicle Comfort: Comfortable driving a work van (Ford Transit) and occasionally a 1-ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
• Comfort with Heights: Must be comfortable working on and around ladders/heights.
• Handyman Skills: Possess handyman-like experience, either personally or professionally.
• Problem-Solving: Able to think on your feet and while using your hands.
• Time Management: Strong time-management skills.
