Responsibilities

  • Understanding customer requirements and ensuring clarity of all requirements prior to detailed design
  • Consulting with applications engineering during the requirements and concept definition process
  • Documenting/updating the requirements when needed
  • Detailed design of AMR systems using OTTO Motors products to meet customer requirements, including workflow definition, layout modifications and review, mechanical design and review of attachments, attachment tooling, and facility equipment that AMRs interface with
  • Creative solutioning of challenges encountered in the project design phase
  • Utilizing Excel/Google Sheets to review customer data, evaluate fleet size, and perform cycle time analysis
  • Supporting the discrete event simulation process by verifying the validity of all inputs required for simulation and working with the customer as well as the internal sim team through the data analysis
  • Project planning for the deliverables and work packages owned
  • Effectively documenting, presenting, and explaining the proposed OTTO solution to customer team members
  • Visiting customer sites to evaluate material handling operations, processes, existing equipment, and floor layout constraints
  • Working with the systems engineering team to improve project/department tools, processes, and working relationships with other departments
